All of us, at one point or another, have dreamt about finding a lost treasure box filled with excellent antique rarities that will provide us with an infinite fortune. Such wishes come and go, but some people still manage to find a real lost treasure in the most unexpected places. Of course, to each one their definition of a cache is unique, so our list includes such interesting things as ancient Viking swords, gemstones, and coins, as well as a nest of adorable baby bunnies. After all, aren’t cute baby animals an unexpected treasure?

And much like with love, the most significant discoveries on our list were made when people stopped looking for them. You could spend all day dragging a metal detector across the beach, but often it is the person taking a casual stroll that happens upon the coolest stuff. At least the people on the list below would probably agree with this philosophy; each one found their own finders keepers at the most random times and in some very odd places.
